Here you`ll see paintings by a Russian artist who believed that the Gospel series was the "main work of his life". You will also read Polenov`s descriptions of his paintings and corresponding verses from the Gospels.

PALESTINE IN THE TIME OF CHRIST

While in Palestine, V.D. Polenov made hundreds of sketches which he later used for painting his impressions of that country. The program will let you travel across the map of Palestine and feel that "Christ is a real living person in the Gospel stories..."

You will get acquainted with names used in the Scripture and Gospel terms.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The program includes full paintings and fragments of 56 pictures by V.D. Polenov, maps of Palestine the way it was in the time of Christ (a total more than 200 images), Gospel verses, Polenov`s texts, historical comments (a total more than 200 texts). While viewing the pictures, you will hear the Bible verses and music by S.V. Rachmaninov and P.I. Tchaikovsky.

The CD-ROM has Russian and English versions of the program.
